Lutz Lake Fern Road Final Design:
Suncoast Parkway to East of Dale Mabry Highway
Hillsborough County, Florida
Hillsborough County is widening Lutz Lake Fern Road from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided urban highway. American managed all aspects of the preliminary and final design and analysis for this $55 million, 3.9-mile project.
Upon completion of the project development and environment (PD&E) study phase, American was authorized to perform final design services, which included the preparation of design improvements along Lutz Lake Fern Road from west of the Suncoast Parkway to east of North Dale Mabry Highway, which included the development of interim improvements to coincide with the addition of a new high school near the existing elementary and middle schools, a new school entrance and coordination with the new interchange connection with the Suncoast Parkway proposed by Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.
Services include traffic analysis and modeling, engineering, pond siting analysis and report, environmental analysis and documentation, right-of-way appraisals and cost estimates, public involvement and the preparation of final design plans.
The Lutz Lake Fern Road widening project is divided into three construction segments to be completed between August 2008 and August 2012.
